Kaleo - "Way Down We Go" (LIVE in a volcano)

A perfect song to ease into the weekend. Plus, all songs should be sung inside a volcano at least once!!

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Sweet Home Alabama **Official Video**

Today's #tbt is one of my top five all time fave golden oldies.  Which Matthew McConaughey seems to get in most of his film soundtracks so I'm guessing he's rather fond of it too :)

Sam Hunt - Break Up In A Small Town

So over here at GLGM2, we've got a dirty little secret.  We're a little bit partial to some country - must be our American roots showing :). Enjoy y'all...

Chasing Grace - Run

Today's choice has a bit to do with the fact that I love this song.  And a bit to do with the fact that this time next week I'll be on a beach in Greece because I get to run away myself.  But only for a week...

Creep - Prince at Coachella 2008

Our second video tonight celebrates Prince the performer.  Not many people can cover Radiohead and win.  With this Coachella performance, Prince won.  And took this haunting song somewhere completely new...

Chris Cornell "Nothing Compares 2 U" Prince Cover Live @ SiriusXM // Lit...

Sunday is a good day for reflection.  Still trying to come to terms with the loss of Prince, we'll have two covers I think to celebrate his life.  Here's one celebrating the songwriter...

PRINCE - The Most Beautiful Girl In The World

There is no arguing about Prince’s musical genius - his music is a big part of the soundtrack of my life and, for my money, over the last 20 years only Slash could come a distant second to matching his ability on the guitar.  But for me his icon status stretched past music.  MTV launched about the same time I took my first tottering, high-heeled steps into the tricky world of sexual politics.  Prince celebrated women, empowering and mentoring them.  When he had women on the stage with them, it was because of their talent, not because they were cookie-cutter long-legged, red-lipped, miniskirted models pretending to play their instruments.  From Sheila E to 3rdeyegirl via Wendy and Lisa and Apollonia6, Prince treated his fellow women musicians the same as the men he worked with – a true feminist before anyone really thought about applying the word to a man. In a time when women were celebrated for their ability to do the splits on the hood of a car Prince taught us that talent is sexy, smart is sexy. So here is my favourite video from this true cultural icon - celebrating women for being wives, mothers, sisters, lovers, friends, professionals.   Thank you Prince for the beautiful experience.

Then Jerico - Big Area

#tbt Then Jerico.  Ahhh, the memories this brings back - driving across the Nevada desert with the roof off my little Fiero and this tape blasting out.  Love me a road trip...

Nirvana - The Man Who Sold The World (MTV Unplugged)

It's been 22 years since Kurt Cobain's death. Translation - god, I'm old.  Even though I was in my 20's when Nirvana came on the scene, they started my life-long love of gravelly voices and guitars.  And, of course, Dave Grohl...
